Researchers found that there’s not much genetic diversity among Bulldogs, so without bringing in another breeds genes there’s little hope for improving the overall health of Bulldogs. Their extreme features are what makes Bulldogs so appealing to consumers, yet they’re detrimental to the dogs well-being. Unethical breeding practices are a man made problem, and unfortunately it’s the dogs that have ended up suffering.

“This is my Irish Terrier Duffy. He’s a rescue dog and he’s had a lot of struggles with his health. He developed diabetes and lost his eyesight. With medication we got his diabetes stable and he qualified for eye surgery to give him back his sight. Here he is seeing my parents for the first time in months. ”

Such a sweet way to wake up.
